most of those are probably spammers. If it's not someone that you think you know, just reject their request and don't add them.

If you have thier ip address, you can always use websites like http://www.geobytes.com/ipLocator.htm to find out their location (countries).

Either that or you can always do a whois to their IP (will still give you some idea about country of origin)
