I dont have any analyst experience before and just graduated at the end of 2009, but I have work for that company for 2 years now, and fully understand the procedures and product, this is an internal job..

I think if you already have 2 years of experience with that company, 60k is not a big ask. It is definitely possible.

But try keep the salary discussion open-ended

You mentioned your company is a "big organization", I definitely believe 60K is fair rate for this role (you have two years experience), even you are entry level. 55-60K is not an investment bank starting rate, it is graduate programme packgage for many companies in NZ. My company offers graduate around 52K starting base + 10% STI which is about 57K total package.

All big companies have their own salary levels based on the PDQ. The range can have 10-25k difference in between. Based on the PD you provided, I don't see it as Junior level ( salary range 38K-50K in our company). It looks like senior level analyst, which could be ranging from 60K to 85k.

First of all, you mentioned it is internal job. Have you been offered for the job through interview? Normally company will go through this process as matter of formality. Or they just try to ask your expectation before you interview you? Bear in mind, two different scenario may lead to totally different outcomes.

A) they wanted you: you can ask as much as possible within the range. It can go as high as mid 70k to 80K.

B) they want recruit someone interanlly but less expensive than that of through normal outside recruitment channel. In this case, you can't really ask much.

Either way, good luck. You can give them a range that you are expecting i.e 50k-65k depending on the level of responsibilities. Then you can negotiate when you more clear picuture about the job.

如果你以往的工资就很低，现在是他们选你去那个岗位的，那么你可以要求50，然后和他们谈定6个月后review ，再加一次到57-60.那也就是给你自己定出一个目标，在6个月内做出成绩给他们看。
如果你以往工资就高，也有这方面的工作经验，那么就直接开口60以上。
看你的帖子你是第一种情况，我还是建议你不要开太高，如果你真正想要拿到那个工作。然后就是要求6个月review 追加工资。
中国人都很努力，也很聪明勤劳的。LZ你能胜任这个工作的。不要怕没经验。就是看你怎样能得到这个工作。这是进入一个行业的第一步，为了今后现在吃点亏是值得的。等你有了经验后，那么你就可以按照市场价格开口啦。
