"Hey, the company i'm now working for, Orion Health, is in need of more senior web developers. they can't find them anywhere so i'm reaching out to everyone i know who may know someone."

"They would be developing our Hospital Portal - which is a web-based solution that presents doctors with a unified view of all hospital and patient information - also with iPad and mobile elements. amazing stuff that makes hospitals hum and saves lives! it's used all over the world.“

真的能做 web app 的,只占所有programmer 的一小部分
而且还要senior 的... 就是要有多年经验,多年前都没 web2... HTML5 现在也刚刚上手(很多标准还没确定)

It is very hard to find senior software developers in New Zealand.That's why IT professional paid well in NZ.

正解...senior 都跑去别的地方了吧,剩下的在找工作的,大概很大一部分是那些野鸡大学还没毕业,只会吹的了

I do not think being a good developer or IT pro has to get a degree from good university.It all comes down to experiences and whether you have skills that is hot demand.

I totally agree with you, good degree from good uni might give you a kick start in your career, not necessarily that important for the long run in IT world.
However, I think with some fair disciplines and financial support, it is relatively easy to get in/out from a fair uni and fair degree.

不过不是貌似这论坛里很多人都是senior么？？

要做几年才是senior啊？
