that only means it is an old laptop, Sony doesn't make laptop for years, and the battery is also stop being manufactured everywhere, assuming you get a battery made years before, how good do you think it will be? let alone battery's lifetime is only lasting a couple years and warranty is usually covered for several months.

don't you ever think about getting a new one or even a second hand but different brand, which is far better than spending a hundred $ on a sinking ship, advice only, no offence
