Who are we? Nistech was formed by a group of auto electricians and electronic engineers who have a passion for the latest automotive technologies and love to share. We are a locally owned and operated company specializing in automotive network debuggers and electronic solutions. By distributing training and support on diagnosis equipment and software for aftermarket over the years, we have gained the trust and support of both small and big clients locally and overseas. Our work involves a lot of research, and development (such as software testing, and ECUs reverse engineering) surrounding the automotive ICT software and hardware systems, as well as repair and maintenance of our systems. About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Support Technician with automotive electrical skills or an Automotive Electrician with mechanical skills to provide customer support and also internal support for our company. This role would suit somebody with a good understanding of automotive technology and/or electrical systems – both hardware and software and some customer service experience or passion will be helpful. University grads are welcomed, and training will be provided. There will be stock management & procurement, product testing, and validation responsibilities. We need someone who can bring a creative R&D mindset, along with practical technical knowledge, to get to the heart of complex problems in a collaborative environment. For the most part of your job, you will maintain, adjust, and repair electronic equipment such as business machines, automotive equipment, and electronic instruments and control systems.
Your duties will include:
- Answer customer's phone calls and emails for support inquiries understand the technical problems customers face, advising users of correct operating procedures and skills to carry out automotive diagnoses and prevent malfunctions.
- By communicating and remotely controlling customers' devices, collecting technical information such as DTC, software data-log, work environment information, and communication signal, for further analysis.
- Applying knowledge of electrical, electronics, mechanical, and other engineering principles in Automotive diagnosis, repairing, coding, and programming jobs the customer needs help with, suggesting solution plan or research direction.
- Liaising with the supplier's engineer team, technical distributor, and other specialist contacts, discussing technical issues in the market, and the feasibility of passable solutions.
- Examining and testing automotive scanners, vehicle ECUs, and instruments of autonomous driving systems to diagnose faults, and carry out adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining, reassembling, test operating, and adjusting equipment on-site or in the internal workshop.
- Advising clients of correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions.
- Providing day-to-day support to end users.
- Carry out automotive ECUs coding and re-flashing, according to the solution company supplied.
- Preparing equipment after sale and adjusting and testing equipment after delivery.
- Carry out internal research projects and prepare reports.
- Anything and help the business team to work smoother.
We are looking for: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive or Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Relevant Automotive experience in a similar role or industry is preferred or a fast learner with a positive attitude.
- Experience in electronic circuits, low–power batteries- and microcontroller-based designs is preferred but not necessary.
- Someone familiar with soldering.A high level of diagnostic skills.
- Someone with a passion for working on vehicles and machinery.
- Someone with a comprehensive understanding of the English language, a bonus if you can also read and speak in a second language such as Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or German to understand more industrial tech info.
