在读AUT的postgraduate of computer science and infosys, 还没有决定thesis课题的同学。
KEDRI Scholarships for Master Research
The Knowledge Engineering and Discovery Research Institute (KEDRI) has currently opening for 2 Master scholarships, each for maximum 5000NZD, for the following 2 research topics in the area of machine learning for internet security.
1. Automated Signature Generation for Application Identification
The research aims to employ machine learning and data mining techniques to automate, speed up, and increase the reliability of the process of signature generation from binary codes or network traffic dumps. Possible applications include malicious computer software classification, active-response intrusion detection, and network application identification.
(Supervisors: Dr. Bantao (from Japan), Dr. Paul S. Pang, and Prof. Nik Kasabov)
2. Active Learning for Outlier Detection and Classification
The goal of active learning is as usual to construct an accurate classifier, but the labels of the data points are initially hidden and there is a charge for each label you want revealed. The hope is that by intelligent adaptive querying, you can get away with significantly fewer labels than you would need in a regular supervised learning framework.
(Supervisors: Dr. Paul S. Pang, Dr. Bantao (from Japan), and Prof. Nik Kasabov)
The scholarship is associated with the HAOD project (High Speed Algorithms for Outlier Detection and Classification over Huge-size Network Data Streams) funded by National Inst. of Info. & Comm. Tech. (NICT) Japan.
The student is required to have good technical reading and writing ability, good programming skills in C/C++, Java, or Python. The skill of Matlab/R coding is an advantage for the application. Successful applicants should be available to start ASAP for a 12-month full time Master research with KEDRI, AUT. The scholarships are open for both New Zealand and international students. Students with excellent research performance will be provided full financial support for attending international conference, and conducting visiting research in NICT, Tokyo Japan. Interested students should in the first instance send a CV to Dr. Pang at [email protected]
