for auckland city council only:
The council and the New Zealand Police are implementing the ban to make public spaces such as parks and beaches safer for everyone this Guy Fawkes.
For this reason, no fireworks are to be let off in the specified ban areas below. A liquor ban is also in place during this period.
Please note: this ban does not apply to private property.
The ban includes:
* Achilles Point
* Kohimarama Beach Reserve
* Ladies Bay Beach
* Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Gardens
* Orakei Domain
* Selwyn Domain (Mission Bay Beach Reserve)
* St Heliers Bay Beach Reserve
* Vellenoweth Green
* Watene Reserve
* Okahu Bay and Okahu Landing
* Whenua Rangatira
* Glover Park
* Madills Farm
* Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve
* Tamaki Drive (from Mechanics Bay to Achilles Point)
In addition, vehicle access gates to some of the city's parks on volcanic cones will close at 6pm between 5 and 7 November. Pedestrians will still have access.
Parks affected are:
* Maungawhau-Mt Eden
* Owairaka-Mt Albert
* Maungarei-Mt Wellington
* Michael Joseph Savage memorial
* Puketapapa-Mt Roskill.
Maungakiekie-One Tree Hill summit road will also be closed to vehicle access on 31 October 2009.
