I agree with Xav, shutter trigger will help a lot, I must be stupid leaving it in the bag when i took these photos. I have a lot of trouble using manual focus, i find it's difficult to focus with manual focus, maybe because I took very little of macros.
During this photo experiences, I also find moving the camera a little further will be easier to focus the object rather than rotating the ring all the time, I very often loose focus when i am using manual mode or af mode, but move a little further back will easier to focus.
About tripod, I am not sure if it can be essential, we do know it contribute a major factor to reduce camera shake, but sometimes its environment simply won't allow you to use tripod. And if you taking insects macro, then tripod will be more difficult, as it is a momentarily photo shot. |
