Changes to student processing in the Auckland region

From the 17th of July 2006 all paper based student permit applications will be processed at Immigration New Zealand’s Student Processing Unit in Palmerston North. This does not affect applications lodged with Students Online partners, which will continue to be handled by eBranch.

Students will be able to either:

Post their completed applications and fee to:
Student Processing Unit
Immigration New Zealand
PO Box 1049
Palmerston North 4440,

Drop their applications and fee into the secure student drop boxes in Auckland branches, or

Apply on campus, if their institute is a Students Online partner.


Branches will continue to provide an urgent service for emergency situations such as travel for family emergencies. Interviews, if required, will also be done at the student’s local branch.


The centralising of student application processing enables us to provide a timely and consistent service to students, better supporting the education sector. It follows a successful pilot of centralised processing by branches outside of the Auckland region. The pilot enabled Immigration New Zealand to better manage the peaks in student application volumes at the start and middle of the year, improving service to our customers. （这是废话，不用理）


Students outside of the Auckland region must post their applications to the Student Processing Unit, or apply on campus if their institute is a Students Online partner. Drop boxes are not available in branches outside of Auckland

虽然对我们梅西大学的同学没什么实际意义，但是对于奥克兰以外的同学。。。有小麻烦

而且所有的学生签证申请都要弄到北帕去签，时间上可能会比之前的要慢些了
