Bill English and his family live in Invercargill. For his work reasons, he needs to be in Wellington most of the time, if he doesn't get an accomodation subsidy, it wouldn't be fair on him or his family, having to fork out for something he needs to do for work.

哎，这道理怎么跟你说呢．很多国会议员参政都是take了一个pay cut. 很多MP都是为了这个国家的未来才参加竞选．他们干别的比MP的工作要搞多了，例如John Key．John Key的总理工资是捐给慈善机构的，你再不给人点accomodation subsidy人家凭什么赔本干活？你不要看人家钱多就想剥夺人的合理享受．举个例子，如果你现在年薪13w(普通MP的工资)，然后公司派你去开conference，你觉得在外面的吃住应该你付钱吗？

If he cannot afford the rent or mortgage, then xxxen live somewhere cheaper, agree he works more hours and has an important job, but that's why he gets paid 200k+ salary. If he thinks that's too xxxen difficult, then give up his position!

你把财政部长这个位置当成儿戏了．我建议你最好去惠灵顿稍微了解一下NZ Parliamentary system怎么工作．没有你想象得那么简单．虽然不是体力活，但是很伤身体，比cleaning累．

Mate, don't let a media beat up get to you. First things first, regardless of the value of his property, he is entitled to an accommodation subsidy. Are we OK on that? If so, then nothing else needs to be said. If you think $900 is too much, in this case, I think so too, the regulations needs to be changed. Until it is changed, he hasn't broken any laws. While this is not good publicity for him, it is his choice and he is entitled it.

嗯，我同意你说的这点，他是挺福的，我也羡慕．

但是我们不能像共产党一样，看到人家富了，就批判人家．至少现在来看，他的这些钱都是用合法手段赚到的．

感觉第一个挺好的．

主要是，正经人MP不好当选，能当选上去的就使劲搞．恶性循环．

好像是今年的前半年，所有MP的旅游费用总共900w.

这边国人申请父母移民出来，父母申请福利不是经常性的被自己人批得无地自容么？  比起来俺们国家的财政部长， 这是小巫见大巫阿。。。这个道德情操都可以上思想教育课教材了。。。

做政客最重要的一个条件就是脸皮够厚。拿福利都要拿得大条道理，光彩耀人。270k+工资还要60k+tax free subsidy, 我劝大家都转行去从政吧！
