(sorry at work can't type Chinese)
I was an international student and graduated from UoA. It was very difficult to find a job (3.5yrs ago). ADHB wouldn't even look at my CV even though the charge nurse for my pre-reg kept asking for it from HR. And I did not want to work in rest homes at all. So what did I pick? I went to primary health care--to the communities, and I got into a place in WDHB for primary health (NetP X) and the placement was at Wellsford, middle of no where. Wellsford medical centre is a rural, busy and big A&E/GP clinic, and learnt quite a lot there, became quite independent. And got my PR within 4 months (because PR is easily approved if you have a job offer and a support letter from my manager). And unfortunately something happened with my accommodation, had been robbed twice, and WDHB couldn't find me another placement, so I left and came back to Auckland. Immediately got a job at Three Kings Accident and Medical, which is also a busy and big A&E/GP clinic but urban. I gained lots of primary health experience. There's no overnight shifts in the community (unless you work in some White Cross). I love it. I love seeing all kinds of patients, young and old. Not in the wards, you mainly only look after similar types of pts with similar conditions.
Now I work at Family Planning. 9-5 Mon to Fri, got my own room, no uniform. I love it.
So for fellow nurslings~ Jia You!! |
