quite the contrary. i've been teaching/tutoring/helping esol learners since i was about 12. so don ...
For wha tyou have listed, I think it is mainly for teachers to know those may be difficult for others. It is not for you but for your students. You may like or not like it. But you don't need to complain abt it. Everyone has his/her own way of teaching or learning. As teachers know more is better than less. Some of your groug may not know that. I did CELTA myself and had similar stuff. I know those things bf but CELTA is only a Level 6 co8urse and some ESOL teaching course may be lower, eg Level 5 or Lever 3 as ESOL home tutor courses. So lots of learner may not know that. If they need to explain to students, they need to know that, therefore don't think your teacher teaching that is stupid. They must have reason to do that as they have more teaching experience than you and I.
From ,my point of veiw, it is a neccessary step for someone, may not for you but know teacher can teach a lesson to suit everyone's taste.
Though you have 12 years of teaching, you couldn't understand other teachers' teaching, you may still need to think it again. You can have your way of teaching and every teaching philosophy has its ground. Can't be labeled as good or bad without considering students' particuylar needs.
Anyway, teaching language can have many ways. No one can teach all students using only one method.
Nice to know you have teaching so long, just discussion. Don't mind too much. No mean to judge you. |
