New Years Eve
Enjoy a feast of activities in and around Auckland to celebrate and welcome in the New Year.
Besides the various parties and concerts, there will be two co-ordinated fireworks displays – one from Sky City’s Sky Tower and another from Auckland’s waterfront.
Here’s some information to help you plan your evening out on 31 January.

Public transport
Please plan your route by checking details on www.maxx.co.nz. Bus services are limited and trains will not be operating on the night.

Parking
All Auckland Council parking buildings will be open on the night. Find out where they are located and costs.
Road closures
There will be road closures in and around the city on the night. Please check for details on road closures all around the city.
Liquor bans
Please enjoy the evening responsibly. Take note of liquor bans in the city, at parks and reserves around the city.
Access to the water
Fireworks will be set off from two barges positioned between Queens Wharf and Devonport. For safety reasons, access around the barges will be restricted. This map [insert hyperlink to map] highlights the restricted areas.
