Quake-rattled Christchurch to re-run Boxing Day sales
Christchurch people who missed out on the sales because of the big Boxing Day aftershock will get another chance for bargains.
The Central City Business Association is planning to replay the Boxing Day sales.
Spokesman Paul Lonsdale says businesses are keen on the idea.
"Some of these traders are going to be doing some fairly sizeable discounts and we are going to engage all the rest of the city's businesses to do something as well," he said.
"We are thinking probably early February at this stage."
Lonsdale says some business damaged by quake are still closed but work is underway to get them reopened.
The 4.9 magnitude aftershock at about 10.30am on December 26 caused evacuations and extensive damage in the city.
