1.24pm: Police say there could be between 60 and 120 people in the CTV building alone.

Police reiterated there was no chance of survival at CTV site, however the Japanses search and rescue team has been assigned to the site because of the high number of Japanese students who were in the buidling.

还不是因为新西兰政府受到了日本方面的压力，也确实可笑，那么大一栋楼，他们怎么那么确定里面的人全死了？心跳探测仪和热感仪还没有先进到那种程度。

回去救人就好，地震后救人的黄金时间是24到72小时，人的生命力是很强的，到现在只是过去了30个小时，肯定有人在废墟下面还活着

There are seven confirmed buildings with persons trapped. These include:

这边有些方面确实过于保守消极了。

什么叫做生命的奇迹？我想现在CTV下面如果还有人活着，他们如果听不到救援的动静，生命很快就会截止了，但如果能感受到任何救援他们的响动，我相信他们能够坚持几天。这么早就宣布停止救援，我想那些还活着的人死后阴魂会缠绕着那些决定停止救援的人。

8:40PM – A search team has returned to the site of the CTV building despite reports that no one would have survived inside.
Search dogs were taken to the site about half an hour ago and a man lead a dog over the rubble.

新西兰这边的当地救援队可能以他们的标准是已经尽力的，本身这边的工作效率就不能与中国，日本，新加坡，美国这些国家比，救援也是如此。一对比就对比出来了，所以很多人认为他们没尽力，他们的标准就是这样，以这边的懒散和刻板，他们不可能做到像中国或者日本一样的效率救人。

很不认可那个警察发言人昨天说CTV 100%没有希望，一百多个人在里面，头天晚上还有人打电话出来，他们就任凭火在楼顶烧一夜，第二天说救不出来了，还不到24小时，又说因为旁边的楼可能会塌。

日本救援队一来就去CTV直接挖出好多尸体，日本救援队一来他们又找到固定旁边那座大楼的东西，又说以经固定好了。那说明CTV SITE 还是可以进去的，旁边的大楼也是可以固定的。新西兰的救援如果有点紧迫感能够第一时间采取这些措施，而不是在日本施压下才这么做的话，那现在挖出来的就不是尸体而是活人。或者说如果日本救援队前天晚上就来的话，很多人是可以救出来的。下面的是STUFF的新闻

"The site had been deemed too dangerous for rescuers with fears more of the building could collapse and they pulled out to focus on the PGG Building around 1.30pm yesterday."

"However, police issued a release early this morning saying work at the site had resumed and Civil Defence Minister John Carter later told media that Urban Search and Rescue crew had been able to return with equipment to secure the building."

On a Facebook page for people associated with CTV, police were heavily criticised for giving up on the recovery and announcing there was no hope of finding more people alive.Nancy Wu, whose husband Paul is among those caught in the building, said the news was devastating.Cindy Gibb, whose husband Sam was also in the building, said: "I know the chances are really slim, but they are giving up too soon".
