Businesses qualifying for the second round of support would receive payments at gradually reducing rates each fortnight over the six-week period.
For the first fortnight, the subsidy would stand at the current rate of $500 gross per week for full-time employees, and $300 for part-time employees.
It would then reduce to $375 and $225 respectively for the second fortnight, and $250 and $150 for the third fortnight.

What is the criteria for getting the second round of ESS?
The criteria is for businesses that:
* Demonstrate ongoing viability.
* Are not insured to pay wages
* Are unable to operate because of physical barriers caused by the earthquake.
* Have already been receiving ESS
The extended subsidy is not to cover businesses suffering from loss of trade only or for sole traders with no employees.
