A Staten Island, New York resident claims that the world is going to end on May 21, 2011.
Reports say that 60-year-old Robert Fitzpatrick spent $140,000, most of his life savings, advertising his prediction.
You can see the ads at bus shelters and on the subway.
The ads don't just warn you about the end of the world—they also promote that his book, "The Doomsday Code" is for sale.
“Most people don’t believe it, and I can’t blame them,” says Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick says that if you want to set an alarm clock, the quake will happen just before 6:00 p.m. local time.
"The earthquake will be so destructive that normal life will no longer be possible. There won’t be any water, freshwater . There won’t be electricity. There won’t be power,” Fitzpatrick claims.
Reports say that Fitzpatrick is retired from the MTA where he worked as an engineer.
The MTA says there isn't any problem with Fitzpatrick paying the agency to advertise saying quote as long as the ads adhere to our rules and standards, then they will generally be accepted.
But, Fitzpatrick is far from alone in his beliefs.
According to Family Radio evangelist Harold Camping, the rapture will come upon us on that date. The date is now some of the most searched for terms on Google. If you fear the end of times, you can prepare by reading WeCanKnow.com.
Spoof website WeCantKnow.com has a countdown clock to the day and date the world will stop spinning. While Ask An Atheist is throwing a party at Dorky's Arcade in Tacoma, Washington, supposedly for all the people stuck on earth.作者: CESAR 时间: 2011-5-15 17:35:55
