You can write the entire address in Chinese, just the country "CHINA" must be written in English.
About the recipient's name, it really doesn't matter, just in general, we would put the first name(s) in the front then last name(surname) at the back.
there are a few types of services to send parcels overseas, international air or economy will only cover up to NZ$250.00, but you can buy insurance by paying an additional $10.
Tracking number gives you the way to keep track on the parcel, knowing when that parcel leaves the origin and arrives the destination country etc. you only get to see the updated information once the parcel gets scanned, it may not be available same day.
tracking number does not secure your parcel in transit, it only gives you a way to locate the parcel.

Standard service (international air or international economy) will not provide tracking services, only international express courier or international economy courier can do.

you can surely keep track on the delivery status once item got scanned, it tells you pretty much point to point with date and time.

once item got scanned in China or In New Zealand or in both 2 nations. Standard service (international air or international economy) takes long time and more riskier than the services including tracking services.
If were you ,which more will be your most favorable approach?
You English is prefect and pretty impressive.Yoy may be highly competent to teach english for higher level in various institutions in a wider range of countries. That would be one of your strength.I totally believe you!!!!!

Item will get scanned once it departed the origin, arrived the destination country etc, you will be able to see the date and time as per scan. However, it is just giving you a brief information about the delivery status, it doesn't really secure you anything.
but if you are sending via international courier (express or economy), or any other courier service provider, it is more expensive but it surely provides way better and quicker service. Hence, you can have the parcel delivered door to door, and the parcel value is covered by a higher amount (up to NZ$2000) automatically.
personally i go for international air if i am not sending anything too expensive, otherwise i usually wait till i go overseas and deliver them myself. postage is too costly and just for your information, the postage has just increased in Oct.

Thanks for your help
Do you think do we need to purchase insurance for our post for overseas sending such as to China?
Personally:I only bought insurance for once when sending items to China.
Normally:the items will not be lost.If it would be lost, could we get it back? How do we claim it back?
Would the items be retruned to my current living address in New Zealand.
The postage will mainly based on the weight of the items being posted rather than the box.
The box is a just small issue. The box is just less important point.Could you please tell me am I right?
Have a greatest day&night!!!!!!

If you are sending as international express courier/economy courier, the parcel itself has a standard cover of up to NZ$2000 without paying anything extra.
if you are sending by international air or economy, it only covers up to $250, and you will need to pay $10 for the insurance if the parcel value exceeds $250, it allows you to cover your parcel up to $1500 i think. Please note that if your item is over $250 and you didn't pay for the insurance, they have the right to refuse making claims.
the postage is based on the weight, and if the parcel has gone missing, you need to send a query for investigation, make sure you keep your receipt when you send your parcel, as well as the invoices of the content. once they completed an investigation and nothing is found, they will provide you a form to claim a compensation on your parcel, and you will then provide an invoice of purchase as per declaration you had when you send your parcel.
if the parcel is un-deliverable, you can choose to have the item returned to sender, but you have to pay for the postage. you got to choose this when you send your parcel.

I think there are a few things senders need to pay attention to:
1. pack their parcels carefully, if there's any fragile item, wrap them with bubble wrap for better protection.
2. declare content(s) with valid information
3. ensure the recipient and sender addresses are complete
4. keep all receipts/invoices for reference

Thanks for your great kindness. You English is prettry impressive and better than most youngesters such as colleage as well as university students. You are so competent in explaning something in very clear, logical point.Social issues or problems can be clealy expressed or identified  by you in very understandable way.

That would be a great habit. That might be helpful for your future carrer development.

In my personal experience,it will be wise for us to develop a great habilit to retain all the invoice and receipts in shopping
