still another 4 weeks until due date... I just want to know how many % of the mothers had epidural during birth. I'm not sure if I can resist the pain during birth but I heard there is some side effects or harmness to mother if the epidural is not done properly. So I'm interested to know how many mothers has had epidural and is successful or any who have problems.

我有打，生以前也像LZ一样考虑这些，但是真正生的时候那种痛苦真的很难忍，那个时候什么都考虑不了了，直接要求赶快打，打完后真的很舒服，还可以休息睡觉一下储存体力，唯一一点就是真正生的时候感觉不到痛，生的会慢一些

Thank you, do you need to prebook this with the hospital or can u ask for one during labour if u feel u really need one. Also when they inject inside ur spine is it very painful?

不用预约的，只要你到医院的时候还没开到8指以上都可以要求上腰麻的，不过因为上腰麻的医生有时候就一个，你可能需要等。我是在西区医院生的，当时上腰麻的医生很专业的，上的时候一点感觉都没有，我刚开始也很怕，因为那么长的一条管子要插到脊柱那里，想着就冒汗，但我当时直到医生告诉我好了，我还没有感觉。不过有些不专业的医生或者实习医生的话就不确定了。这点西区医院就很好，因为那里都是specialist。

最好提前和你的mw商量好。但是好多人没想打，到时候疼得受不了在要求也可以，不过要在开8指前。我小时候打个预防针都觉疼得不行，打针肯定是疼了，我生之前也worry本身打epidural那针疼不疼，等你宫缩开始了，打针的疼就称不上疼了。况且就一下就好了。
我觉得挺好，没觉得有什么后遗症。快生的时候医生就没再给我top up了，所以也能隐隐感到宫缩，只是不疼。
