目前情况：有canon550D，需要一个价格不会很贵的旅行外出用单一镜头，不想为了zooming range来回换镜头，太过麻烦了。了解zoom lenses 的成像效果绝对不会比得上prime lenses，但为了方便使用，决定接受这点compromise.

技术：完全菜鸟，基本只用auto 和 scene两个模式。偶尔用其它模式时，只是为了能够强迫闪光而已。可以说技术不足，所以如果使用方面需要很好的技术才能够成像比较好的镜头恐怕就不适合我了。

使用范围和目的：出门旅游时候拍摄风景，人物，在家聚会的时候拍摄人物合照。所以会比较需要广角和一定的远景。
因为在外会遇见阴天，或者黄昏等情况，偶尔会想拍摄隔岸灯火什么的都市景象，在室内则会有光线比较暗的情况产生，会需要一个low light performance比较好的镜头。易操纵，成像清晰。

求助：请各位针对以上需求和个人技术限制，由个人使用经验给我一点建议。谢谢啦~~~

还是18-200吧，挺不错的，如果楼主觉得贵，18-135，也可以考虑，大概400-500块吧

18-135也要800多啊。
18-200上一千了。

据说tamron18-270不错，成像清晰，可是问题在于autofocus 很慢，而且low light 没有flash几乎不能用。所以说阴天，下午到晚上天黑前这段时间或者室内灯光不太好的时候，又不好用flash，那岂非就要郁闷了？唉！

sigma据说auto focus速度很快，barrel distortion在广角的时候也是最小的，可惜成像比较虚。
但这两个，价格都比canon 18-200便宜，而且都比canon zooming range广。而且tamron还有个包含在原价格里的6年保修，很震撼啊。所以我在这儿挣扎啊挣扎。怪郁闷的，也不知道到底买哪个比较好。

我是说全新的啊，全新有保修的，菜鸟不敢乱买二手的啊。
ｐｈｏｔｏ　ｗａｒｅｈｏｕｓｅ的价格比一般实体店都要实在了，我买东西都会先看下它家的再看别家的。
其它店水分很大，像ｓｏｎｙ本店吧，明码标价５９９，卖价只要４４５，多让人吐血啊。ｐｈｏｔｏ　ｗａｒｅｈｏｕｓｅ基本不会这样的。它家不乱讲价，也不乱给折扣，可是标价却一般都是别家打完折的价格。我不喜欢讲价的，喜欢实实在在的店家，所以看照相机基本去它家。
不过惭愧，我除了镜头，基本没在它家买过东西。因为别家店看到的，只要提了价格问题，都会降更多，还给送好多。贪小便宜呃～～～～～　汗～～～～　

但专业器材，我就只去它家看先。

呃～～～　那还是先算了。
这种东东我比较喜欢看见实物，并且喜欢实体店在我附近，这样送修时候不用担心时效，时间都浪费在邮寄上了什么的，而且只能电话联络。其实我觉得好多时候，真正面对面咨询，有实物在旁边，讲起来比较清楚比较有实在感的。

L头并不见得绝对好过S许多吧？当然会好一点啦。但最根本的区别还是L可以给full frame用吧？S也出了一些精典省钱的镜头啊。譬如50mm f1.8啊。便宜又好用，相当精典啊。

还有没有太明白你的意思，你是说因为我要不讲求操作技术，只要求本身performance就很好操作简单的镜头，所以会多花钱呢？

如果是后者。。。。。。有什么好推荐？我也不是完全不能考虑啊。

要是差价很多，可是质量却一样的东西，非实体店我也可以考虑的啊。

虽然zooming为主，但成像也不能太烂的呢？

15-85~~~ 出去旅游要拍远景什么的，还是不够啊。只能拍人，和部分landscape了。
偶尔有经典的廊柱雕刻什么的，离得太远了，85根本不够拉近的。

就是需要一个方便的旅行用单一镜头，带起来方便，省了换镜头的麻烦啊。85是绝对不够用的啊。

ZOOM 倍率越大，对镜头的成像质量越不利，这只能看您自己平衡了。15-85的优势在广角，风光拍得比较多的话，广角还是很有用滴，如果人文拍得多，就不好讲了

但是也还是有比较的吧？
我明白ｚｏｏｍ永远不可能如ｐｒｉｍｅ，但当需要ｚｏｏｍ功效的时候，还是希望矮子里面拔状元，选个其中最好或者较好的吧？

所以希望大家能给点意见和建议，譬如说，应该选什么样的镜头，为什么？此镜头本身或者比较其它的有什么长处，又有什么短处之类的？
这样好帮助我购买啊。

不过谢谢推荐，１５－８５听起来似乎是个不错的镜头，以后有需要的时候会考虑拿它换我的ｋｉｔ　ｌｅｎｓ１８－５５.　但目前，对我来说是不必要的投资啊。
成像效果，我已经有５０ｍｍ　ｆ１．８了，真到效果最重要的时候，可以先拿这个凑合。
但速拍，旅游用，单一足够ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ的镜头，是我现在比较需要的啊。
拿着１８－５５，和５５－２５０到需要换镜头的时候，觉得非常不方便。而且很多时候，哪里有那个机会让你换镜头呢？你镜头换完了，远处可爱的珍藏版老爷车说不定早跑的没影子了。而枝头挂着的猴子，早缩得不知道哪里去了。多郁闷。唉～～～～

只投票不给原因，让我好郁闷啊好郁闷。
因为投票选ｃａｎｏｎ的，很有可能都是不习惯用别的牌子得镜头，习惯了什么机子配什么镜头的人啊！
唉～～～～

我是想问问有没有人实际操作过这几种镜头，都有什么感觉，对我以上的需求来说，什么是可以满足的，什么是不能的。
然后从中选择优势较多的去买啊。可惜都没人说。
肯发言的却都推荐的是其它镜头，ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ不足够。５５５５～～～～

我上个月剛玩過這部机三个星期,帶去歐洲,套机是18-135鏡,新手基本夠用啦,用550D配貴鏡有點頭重腳輕的感覺,玩熟了再換都未遲,現在机器更新太快啦~~

对了，你的１８－１３５成像，ｌｏｗ　ｌｉｇｈｔ　ｐｅｒｆｏｒｍａｎｃｅ和ａｕｔｏｆｏｃｕｓ都怎样？感觉效果如何？１８－１３５其实也在我考虑范围内，但是它价格跟ｔａｍｒｏｎ１８－２７０还有ｓｉｇｍａ１８－２５０差不多，ｒｅｖｉｅｗ上也不太出彩，一样的价格，性能似乎没有特别的优势，而ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ又小很多，感觉不太想考虑的样子，所以当时列投票的时候就排除在外了。

如果你現在玩550D,有二支kit鏡,建議你什么也不用換,除了可以拉遠一些,素質不会有大的飛跃,除非升級上L鏡,還是省點子彈升級吧,一个初哥之言.....

ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ是比较重要，但是相片效果当然不敢要求它跟ｐｒｉｍｅ去比，但多少也要差不多啊。总不能比ｋｉｔ　ｌｅｎｓ１８－５５还差吧？

可是不方便啊。
要是你出门旅游，不但要多背一个相机，还ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ这么极端，老要换，你会不会想吐血？万一人多点时间赶点儿，哪儿来的时候换镜头？就算耐心换了，人又多又忙乱时间又赶，来回拆换指不定就掉地上磕了碰了，多吐血？

素质不用大飞跃，别比ｋｉｔ　ｌｅｎｓ还差就好啦，要是能比ｋｉｔ　ｌｅｎｓ再好点当然就更好啦。

认真研究素质的话，就用ｐｒｉｍｅ了，不会用ｚｏｏｍ　ｌｅｎｓ的啊，尤其是ｌｏｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ　ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｌｅｎｓ啊。

當時教堂很黑,不可能用閃灯,雜訊肯定有,视乎你接受程度,還有,我只是初哥,這部机不是我的,只玩了三个星期,還未玩熟...

教堂里的其实还好，因为ｌｏｗ　ｌｉｇｈｔ无闪光，能速拍成这样也还可以了。
但是河上那张叫人很踌躇。虽然不在阳面，但怎么说也是ｂｒｉｇｈｔ　ｄａｙ　ｌｉｇｈｔ　ｎｏ　ｃｌｏｕｄ　ｎｏ　ｒａｉｎ。整个照片没有一处聚焦的，就很让人不安了。我再想想，就目前看，感觉同等稍贵的价格而已，如果真买，没有必要考虑１８－１３５了。还是从１８－２００ｒａｎｇｅ里找吧。

你是说我太挑剔了？一般这个情况的镜头也还可以了么？
可是好担心。。。。。。阳光比较充足都这样了，阴天怎么拍ｌａｎｄｓｃａｐｅ？晚霞什么的，简单的夜景什么的，可怎么办呢？
又不是会背着三脚架满街跑，动不动手动调焦距ａｐｅｒｔｕｒｅ的高手啊。
何况旅游么，都是速拍啦。多半没有讲究的条件啊。唉～～～～　
不是故意挑剔的，实在是不想几百上千买个没什么用很失望的东西回来啊。

讓我解釋一下吧,河上哪張是因為在ニ只不同的船上,二个物体都在不停移动着,所以很難對焦,還是請高人解答你吧~~

希望能找到用ｌｏｎｇ　ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ镜头的人给点经验心得。
可能好多人用ＤＳＬＲ为的就是质量，唯一不怕的就是麻烦？估计用ｌｏｎｇ　ｚｏｏｍｉｎｇ　ｒａｎｇｅ　ｌｅｎｓｅｓ的人其实不多？
大家都会选择比较保守的伸缩范围？

而且我也没那么过分啦，我只不过想让马儿在可能的情况和竞争下能够是那匹跑得最快吃得最少的啊。唉~~~~~

18-200你是说range是不二选择么？还是那个镜头，如果是镜头的话为什么呢？tamron18-270也有不少好评的，唯一担心的是它的low light performance和auto focus速度到底差到什么地步了。
canon 18-200 wide angle时图像扭得太厉害了，跟tamron完全没法比较，所以也是我踌躇的问题，而且比tamron贵，比它zooming range小，成像效果好多人还说不如tamron. 但是也有人讲，这个is很强大，low light也比tamron好。可偏偏没人有图有真相或者稍微仔细比较一下下。害我都不知道大家说的那些区别和各自的不足之处到底有多严重，所以很痛苦的从google回来希望找到真用过的人出来说几句中肯的经验啊。

至于说不会比kit lens好，这点我要求也不高啊，别比kit lens还差就好啦。

问题是很多DSLR使用者并不是专家，还是有需要轻便各种range都大概能包括的一体镜头方便旅游日常什么的。真正要详细学习photography我明白是不会有人想拿这个来练的。

嗯，谢谢，建议很中肯。
我只是在canon 18-200和tamron 18-270之间比较挣扎，希望能有一些使用过tamron此镜头的人给我点实际使用过的经验建议。

因为canon明显比tamron贵，zooming range又小不少，但据很多review网上看的，两款在bright day light之下成像效果不分高下，而canon在广角18mm的镜像扭曲非常严重，相比较tamron的就好很多了。

但是tamron的auto focus却是出奇的慢，而且Image stablizer也比较弱。所以拍摄移动物体（不是快速移动，就是普通移动），以及low light都差一些。

因为无法在low light的情况下在店家试用比较。而拍摄阴天，光线不太好，黄昏前后的机会还是有不少的，所以对此比较关注比较质疑。
希望能有用过tamron的人讲一讲所谓的auto focus很慢，IS不太好，到底是什么程度上的？是可以接受的呢？还是根本没必要买的呢？

简单的说就是比较中意tamron18-270，但是很介意它在无脚架不需要复杂调试光圈iso曝光等等的情况下，在基本的low light situation 试用机器自备的摄影模式或者自动模式时，peformance到底是什么程度的。如果这个根本不行，则很简单可以决定下来买canon的，可是如果这个所谓的比较差一点并不是什么大问题，甚至恐怕很难注意到区别，则在性价比上考虑会买tamron的。

eg. a friend jumped on a boat or run far away from me already, thought it's a good time to take a photo, yet unless I run after the friend, bring the distance closer, I won't be able to fast and efficiently take a photo... annoying truly...; or @ one scenery location, but seen something nice not far away, however it's another park, have to walk hours to the entrance, get out, and then go to the other side... no time... just want to photograph what I've seen now, again, zoom not enough, how frustrating. Change a lens? or give up? These are the reasons why I wanted or to say, still wanting a super zoom lens (being let down a lot while I'm searching for a super zoom lens, actually do start to think maybe shouldn't get one, haha~~~).

So meanwhile I do find, a super zoom lens would make my life easier.

I know I need to compromise a lot on IQ and focus speed and even IS, but just felt I need that zoom range...

And if it's a reasonable compromise, honestly, I may not tell the difference, after all, I'm just an amateur, might not see the IQ as what professional see, or serious IQ fans see.

I need reasonable photo, good @ standard printing size, won't see shaking edges, blurry ghost etc on my photo. A4 probably will be the maximum size I'd ever print out. I suppose with the smaller printing size, and "travel use quality" constraint, maybe a super zoom lens won't provide disappointing quality? May satisfy my need for convenience and IQ?

If I've got wrong here, please let me know.

And thanks again for your help, really have learned a lot from your advise, and will keep the lenses you recommended in mind, maybe as a replacement for my kit lens 18-55 sometimes when needed to upgrade IQ?

Have you heard any rumors like canon is gonna to bring out new super lens to replace 18-200? with USM? 18-200 is an old lens isn't it? thought it's being released 07-08...

en~~~ that's a really good point, since I never printed out any close up photos either... they stayed in my computer. normally printed out ones are only those with people or really stunning landscape (hardly ever landscape either)...

What lens I'd be needing, and what should I be aware of for taking a good print worthy one? No tripod, I never use them... -_-! (I do find my 55-250 produces useless photo at the long end, let's say, it's ridiculous, noisy, blurry, not sharp or print worthy at all).

And what do you guys actually do in a rainy day? For compacts，there're water housing, but for DSLR... can't use them wet, and no flexible and big enough water housing built either... it's a problem on my mind for a bit while now.

And just a thought, if I want to upgrade to a better IQ from my kit lens, (wide angle essential, tele, no. so 18 has to be covered at least), though need a bit zoom for easy use. Let's not taking price in consideration, purely performance and quality wise, which would you recommend? Don't mind L lens, although they might not be fully utilized on a cropped body, especially 550D not 7D, but who knows, maybe one day, can think of upgrading to a FF, anyway, good lens lasts, better investing in lens than body, at least that's what I thought.
And now, if the price for above is over the roof, can you suggest some more economical ones in different price level?

er~~~ thank you, but won't think about sigma 18-200 since 18-250 is out, seems to be a little bit better? @ IS power etc?

anyway, your sigma, how is it performing under low light? cloudy dark afternoon, before or after sunset? night on the street? if without tripod, no flash, and not much serious manual adjusting, simply use camera built in modes or auto(no flash) mode, can you take a print worthy picture?

LZ 如果以后不想烧下去，技术也比较有限，G12 这类相机更适合你。便携性好，成像效果不会差，且变焦倍率不低。你的机身就足够换个G12了，经济又实惠，总之合适自己的就是最好的

其实我在想，要真不烧了，sony cybershot wx10就挺好。最近大爱这机子，那个sweep panorama, 唉~~~ 真是要试一下啊，太方便了。不用自己在ps里费劲的贴照片接照片了。而且sony G lens比carl zesis 又好点，原本是他家给DSLR专门设计用的，最近才调整试用到compact的上了。而且真的非常小巧，紧身牛仔裤的兜里都能放得下了。7X optical，也不错了，还有点儿manual control, 24mm广角，高清1080i录像。哈哈~~~~

不过还是不甘心么。出门旅游一趟不容易，看见好风景，有DSLR真舍不得拿compact拍摄。
DSLR，即便是用18-55的，拍摄出来的清晰度和效果，到底还是比compact好多了。唉~~~ 但不方便也是真的。

which means, I can't take photo in a rainy day with my 550D, what a pity... you can never quite choose or control weather while traveling, but won't want to miss the chance to photograph where have been for memory. sad...

and for the far distance photography with people in there, would you say, 35 and 50mm, with 5-15ms distance, I can't people stand out from the background? would rather look like a overall view of the situation, without focusing on people? that definitely won't do for me. Maybe I should give my 55-250 another try. Actually I put it away for a long while now, since I was disappointed with it for most of the close up tele I've got from it. Good to know it has a potential to perform better, thanks. :)

in replacement of 18-55, you recommended 17-55 with priority, does this mean 17-55 produces much higher IQ than 18-55? If not much difference, I won't want to spend more money for a similar lens, if excellent IQ, surely need to get it at some stage.

10-22 and tokina 11-16, you said they're wide angle, and wont' make my 18-55 redundant. but Honestly, I won't need a wider angle than 18-55 right now, so far haven't found any kind of situation in need of a wider angle. So still, my focus would be more on image quality, not saving both lenses. What do you find about 10-22 and 11-16? do they give better IQ than 18-55? sharper image, more true color, less purple or odd color fringe? and of course less distortion on wide angle?

Thank you again, your comments are very helpful, I'll be aware to keep these lenses you've mentioned out when picking up my new lens. Actually I was thinking of 24-70 at some stage, as I remember, gladly to be able to eliminate it and narrow down my choice.

60D 是sports camera吧？听说这个拍动景挺好的？
当时也挣扎过，60D 550D还是咬咬牙7D。哈哈~~~~ 最后觉得还是买了550D，因为我很少拍运动场景什么的。而且感觉不如多在镜头上下功夫，机身差不多就好了。

现在可惜了，听刚才一位跟我讲550D不带基本防尘防水，雨天完全不能用。唉~~~~ 旅游时稍微有点不方便啊。

我比较确信，我好像是二代的。唉~~~~

但是那个lens我真的很少用，因为上次出门拿它拍远处去不了的塔，全是虚的，还有紫蓝色的散光边边，好像叫做color aberration? 感觉好烂。所以就压箱底了。不过又听说还是不错的，可能是我操作不当吧，改天拿来再试试。

Cool! I like snapping none posing subjects! Will definitely think about 17-55.

Unfortunately, with my knowledge and skill, some of your description is still too technical for me, can't understand fully. Suppose I'll find out what they mean in real world with time. But do know more light being able to get through the lens, the better, so getting the rough idea.

I'll have a look on dpreview, and see what you mean about the charm of the ultra wide angle.

my 55-250... maybe because I was photographing in a cloudy day, without tripod, and lack of manual adjustment? Had a look the photos taken with it again, did look really bad and useless. Suppose reasonable telephotos never equal to quick photo with camera built in scenery mode？

其實, 成像不錯的, 24-70算是很經常用的了, 基本上也算是可以一鏡走天下了~

If you're a full-time pro and use this all day, every day, of course it's worth it.

If you're a student for whom cash is tight, then no, it's absolutely not worth it. You'll make the same images with the 18-55mm II kit lens, and have enough cash left over to go on some great trips to make photos you otherwise wouldn't. For you, the less expensive lens will make much better images.

Some lenses, like the 100mm Macro and 17-40mm, autofocus almost perfectly on all my Canons. Others, like this 17-55mm, miss occasionally. I'd suggest checking this carefully before your return period expires to ensure you're happy, since if you can't get good focus at f/2.8 you miss some of the value of this lens.

I'd prefer the 17-85mm IS, for half the price as the 17-55mm IS, for the longer zoom range. The disadvantages of the 17-85mm are much more distortion, and crammed together zoom settings at the wide end.

Personally, I'd stick with the $100 kit lens and save my money if cost is a concern. I'd rather put limited funds into other lenses, like the 10-22mm EF-S. If cost isn't a concern, this is your lens.

So for the dpi problem, do you get same auto recognition too? all your photos transferred from DSLR into pc, you open them up with default 72dpi huge photo in photoshop?

What do you do? adjust resolution manually in photoshop? or just retouch, and take to a print shop, let them manage the rest?

Quite an excellent point you've made, is it more worthy of paying on an extra lens with limited and rather poor photography skills? Or more rewarding to save the amount to see more places?

Maybe should sharpen up my skills seriously right now, so I can fully understand how much more I can utilize my kit lenses, and know more about what I really need with top priority...

17-55 堪称佳能的半幅镜皇，舍得多花几百块钱，且能放弃长焦，就是不二选择
唯一缺点就是镜头的阻尼，长焦那半段非常松，镜头朝下的话能自己伸出来
BTW，这镜头可不轻，算挺有分量的

I own a canon 50 f1.8 and 17-40 f4 L now. And used to have a 18-200, it gives enough range but I am not happy with its quality. I think 17-55 plus 50-250 gives you the better value. Sold my 18-200 after bought 50 f1.8 II. 50 f1.8 is the better lens I ever had and it only costs you $180 dollars.

yeah, 50 f1.8 is great! for its IQ and price.
But wasn't much of a fair competition either, prime is naturally better for IQ.
Anyway, I love it however sadly only for its review and value and capability, haven't utilized it at all, but just glad to know someone else have it and love it too.

And I think I'm quite certain to stay away from super zoom now.

17-40 or
10-22

果然事事无完美，我估计它再重也不能重到70-200去吧。只要在70-200 1/3-1/2左右的size我都能克服了。
但是镜头过松自己掉下来伸缩这个问题可真讨厌。
万一要拍俯视角度呢？拿手稳着？手能有多稳，指不定得抖，这不妨碍镜头AF么？
唉~~~ 谢谢告知。

对了，刚有一位强力推荐17-40，你有啥使用心得没？我知道太广角连中焦都是在cropped机身上才能勉强到达。但就镜头本身performance IQ 而言？
老实说，当初推荐17-55给我的那位好人说的一句话，让我非常动心，17-55AF超群，抓拍没有特意摆造型的人物动物很赞。而且low light比较好，室内室外都适用。

It's actually a truth, but I've bought one already, better learn and use it. And so far, it does solve some of my problems that compact couldn't. Love the image quality, however, only for landscape not for portraits yet.

Well, there is always a group called "learner", in any area. It's not about what they know and how good they are, it's more about the willingness to learn, and to know.

hey.. 我就在用17-55. 我觉得她是无可替代的。我准备换FULL的时候都不知道用什么镜头了。

听你这样说，我又觉得高兴，有稍觉得有点举棋不定。我对17-55目前感觉挺有信心的，所以多一个人认真仔细分析过后还说好的，让我信心更增。
但是举棋不定在这儿：17-40 和17-55之间，如果只能选一个，你会选哪个，有什么原因么？因为我只能买一个啊。唉~~~~

Full frame...我不介意用full frame的镜头，因为cropped body也能用的。但是我把相机更新换代到FF这种可能，估计近几年来除非FF价格掉水沟里去了，不然不会考虑的。毕竟FF不但镜头贵，而且打印起来似乎也有不便？所以到底是不是FF镜头，是非能为将来更新到FF多做打算，这点我基本不care.

和铁牛的想法相同。 17-40 还是算了吧，很多人用了觉得还好。就像当时我买的时候一样，那个SALES说换full的时候再想买什么头吧。。

Haven't got a chance to read the full review yet, but since you said so, probably won't read that review either.
Now makes things easier, I think if I'd ever get another lens, 17-55 would be the one and luckily the only one on the list. :)

17-40在550D上跟17-55比，焦段没优势，成像没优势，光圈没优势，价格差不多
优点就是就多了个红圈，做工好一点
总体来说，如果暂时不想升级全副，17-55就算一步到位了

我跟LZ有一抹一样的想法。不过我的打算是要一个有比较大ZOOM RANGE的镜头--不要太重--用来拍远景或者人物动物一类。然后再自带一台小相机，大光圈，素质好的相机。这样就可以两全其美啦~~~

但我也在想，那款镜头即可以符合我的要求又不太贵。。。

我已经放弃了，经过好多童鞋的推荐和建议，我又一次深刻意识到，万事难两全其美，你总要做出一定牺牲。
super zoom恐怕不会给出什么好效果，要么频繁换镜头，要么听楼上童鞋们说的，别太贪心，找个成像效果不错的短焦偏广角的镜头，譬如17-55，或者24-70，或者超级广角10什么的。

唉~~~~~
也许这就是菜鸟的惆怅之处？真到了一定程度，会发现器材神马的都是浮云？技术才真？
