有谁知道KING'S SCHOOL的，这个小学怎么样？

I have been to King's School for introduction. They often organise pupils to tour visitors around. It sounded a nice school. Compulsory French study, all Apple computers/laptops, musical instrument learning, etc. Guess as long as you can afford it, it is a great choice.

Two things stop me at the moment: 1. we are not that rich family and I would worry that my child lose his confidence there. I heard about in that school, some kid's birthday present is a real pony! 2. King's college has a few unpleasant accidents in recent years (things like student drink/drug to death). It has something to do with rich grow-up kids getting ruthless. I am not sure I can handle that with my kids.

I have been to the school as well. It seems really good for study, those two points you have bring up are quite right. But everywhere have rich family kids a... Not really can stop that happen.
The fee is not cheap compare with other schools, But it is also not easy find a good house at Epsom with a reasonable price...If count the house price on the top, seems like the school fee is accepatable ?

You are right. That is why I prefer renting in the school zone instead buying.
By sending them to private school, I would have to carry on sending them to private college. It will come to around $30 to $40K pa for us. And it is a long term commitment.
Right now we go with public school for primary education. Save hard or win lotto, and I might consider enrolling them for private college when they are older. Otherwise, Auckland Grammar is ideal.

True. Just not sure what is different of Education Quality between Public school and private school. I do think the early child education is quite important for kid.... :)

BTW, Can I ask when your boy was 1 or 2 year old. WHere did he go ? Childcare center?

My one went to daycare full time when he was 13 months cos we both work full time.
Do think if you have a choice staying home, it is better to keep kids yourself and only send to childcare part time for social purpose. You can always take them to music group, story time, etc.

Totally understand be a working mum is not easy ......Both of us need to work as well... We will move to Remura soon. Do you have any good place suggest for a 18 monthes kid around the area? If I am working , Is there any weekend music group around?

2个小外甥都在这个学校！软硬件都非常好，可以说是AKL最好的私校之一，课外有很多活动都可以选择，当别人抱着橄榄球围着学校跑的时候，他们学的是马术击剑壁球等等。。。

当然，价格也是。。。量力而为比什么都重要

You are lucky! Remuera, meadowbank and ellersie are all good school.

Is your one boy or girl? Each weekend we go to toy library to toy swapping, library for books and story time, soccer for tots for exercise. There is also YMCA gym available around Auckland. You can go to local library to search for todler magazine. There is a A3 size one (I forgot the name of it) which lists local activities in it too.

By the way, you don't have to type in English. I do it as I am at work and can not type Chinese! LOL :-) {:8_479:}

Agree with you. But it is easy to say while hard to do as parents always want to give the best to their kids.

应该是最好的私立男校了吧。学费贵当然有它贵的理由。肯定是那些公立学校无法比拟的。至于学生收到的礼物贵重问题，我觉得能上起这所学校的家庭经济也不会差到哪里去吧。我觉得如果连一份生日礼物都要考虑的话，最好还是不要考虑这所学校了。

Thanks your suggestions a. I saw that when I visted school as well.... It seems good. But K.A. bring up two points which I worry as well.. Hope more mum can share theire suggestions if their kids are in KIng's a .

Sorry a .. I would like to type Chinese as well a.. Easy for understand.. But I am at work now.. No Chinese at all... :( Ok, I will go to the library and search what they have.. But still do not know which school is good for 18 month's boy a .. Looking for one... THe one you son is going , good?

We are out of zone for any good school so I plan to put the name down for ballot for three schools close by. That's partially why I went to visit King's as well.

I do feel that is a descend school. If you are comfortable with $20K school fee per year, plus extra for life style, including dinner out, reasonable party organising, overseas trip etc, it will be great experience to study in King's School.

I am not trying to compare my children with others. However, unless I can provide a high life quarlity, I won't send my ones there. For kids with different life experience and social network, they lose their common ground.

True. The teacher said it is around 15 k school fee for the first three years. It is make sence to include other fee and family exp as well. The only purpose to ask is really help the kid find a school that he can have fun and also can learn lots a. :)

这个学校比epsom的好多了，不过一个是私校一个是公校，我老公想送3个孩子去kings，不过我不大敢，学费要给3个人的不说，之前我老公开的店就在这个学校对面，我每天可以看到接送孩子的家长，开的车都特好，家长穿的阿手提包阿都是好东西，我想想都害怕，我可不能给孩子丢脸，让孩子进去这个学校感到压力很大，

把小孩送去學校﹐最好找一些家境跟自己家差不多的﹐比較好﹐否則小朋友見父母要拼命的去工作就是為了送他去上學﹐會造成不必要的心理壓力

我也觉得如果家庭条件不是很宽裕的话，孩子的压力会很大，对个性发展不好。
