The larger snow fed rivers are in great condition for salmon fishing at the moment, which looks promising for some great catches over the next few days. The lower Rakaia River has fished very well recently with the gut being the standout spot on the incoming tide, with up to 20 salmon caught each day over the last week here. The surf will also be well worth a look once the water clears.
The lower Waimakariri River at McIntosh’s Rocks has also seen reasonable numbers of salmon taken over the last week with 20 caught one day and 7-8 taken most days. The Waimakariri Mouth has however been relatively quiet. The mid reaches of both these rivers have also yielded salmon recently, with the Rakaia Gorge proving to be a reliable spot and good numbers reported throughout the Rakaia at present作者: lamasheep 时间: 2012-3-9 23:33:34
