We have concerns about a member who recently viewed your Trade Me Motors listing(s). They were an overseas scammer and we have closed their membership. If you had a mobile phone number on your listing, the scammer may send you a text message from an overseas phone number asking you to email them. Do not make contact. The scammer may claim the membership has now been verified by Trade Me. This is also a hoax and is another way to trick you into making the trade. Here are a few additional tips:- Never trade with an international member. Trade Me does not allow traders from outside New Zealand or Australia.- Never send money overseas or pay by Western Union, Money Gram, PayPal or any other instant payment method.- If you wish to complete a transaction via SafeTrader, visit www.safetrader.co.nz to create a membership and follow the instructions.- If you click a link in an email, make sure you check the website address you're being sent to.
