都是自己考的啦，上周五刚刚考完MCITP最后一门，现在开始找工作。。。不知道市场情况。。。真心求指导~

可以试试大IT公司的HELP DESK。你有这么多认证，工作一段时间后，如果公司内部有network 和 sys admin 的空缺，应该很快可以调上去。不想做HELP DESK的话，可以直接找 DESKTOP SUPPORT, JUNIOR NETWORK/SYS ADMIN. 但难度会大一些。

还是先确定你的方向吧，找MS的工作就把RH在CV上证书去除吧.
直接找sysadmin就可以，mcitp去找helpdesk，让人感觉你的证是假的.
总结：你的证书考的太杂了, 我从你的证书中看不出你要像哪边发展...

英语好，才是强项~~。 Help Desk 要你的英文很强才行啊。
有证和学历，再加上好的英文交流，才能找到好工作啊。

我从来不考虑前台的IT工作，就是任何跟接电话相关的IT工作。虽然自认为英文还好，但是还是信心不足。万一听不懂，不能老是pardon吧。

所以我只申请developer的工作。

入门不是都得从help desk/technical support开始吗？
现在help desk/technical support的招聘广告大部分都需要懂server active directory，又要略懂linux。。。又要会trouble shooting。。。。。又要懂network。。。。
server active directory不得考个mcitp？或者我只把mcts写上去？
我以后是想专攻linux～但是这里linux入门的工作太少了。。。
trouble shooting我得考个compTIA A+吧。。。。
network又得考个compTIA Network+ 或者CCNA
天啊。。。。我该怎么办呢？

嗯，我是这么想的，但我目标是Linux的。。。但这方面入门工作太少了。。。现在的奥克兰这边的help desk/technical support要求多多。。。我也只能多考了。。。我是应该从奥克兰和奥克兰以外的help desk/technical support的找起呢？这个方向没错吧？感谢！！！

your qualification might be a bit over qualify to work in helpdesk. this is about system engineer/admin work. by the way, english and working experience are the most important factors during interview. technical test might be required

你既然有ITIL，其实如果你去比较大的公司你可以申请跟CHANG MANAGEMENT有关的工作。然后你再确定你是想做NETWORK还是SYSTSEM。

我是做database的，MCITP考的是SQL Business Intelligence. 我觉得如果一个公司用MS的话就不太会用Linux。入门IT不一定要从helpdesk做起，可以找junior的position.

门槛根据能力不同, 职位也相应不同. 如果你在工作之前已经做过大量实验, 再加上部分证书, 拿到一个middle range level的工作不成问题.

mcitp要写,mcts就不用了.

现在help desk/technical support的招聘广告大部分都需要懂server active directory，又要略懂linux。。。又要会trouble shooting。。。。。又要懂network。。。。

这个你就要下一点功夫了, 你要判断出他们需要的core skill是什么. 然后之罗列出相关的certs. 2nd priority 相关的certs在面试的时候再说. 总之不要都写上就好, CV要简单明了, 正中要害

凭你考过这么多证书, 能证明你技术应该不错. 工作就是时间的问题.

的确, 没工作之前和楼主想的一模一样, 职位要求什么就一定要把那方面的证书摔在HR脸上, 当时想这样做才百密无一疏.
工作久了发现, 大多数亚裔这么做的比较多. 反而是鬼佬狗屁没有, 但是技术基本都还比较过硬.
所以有证书的一定要好好准备面试, 别基本的问题问跨了.

Just find whatever job that you can get your hands to i suppose. Obviously if there's a choice, level 2 support is better than level1 helpdesk. As everyone else has already pointed out, be confident during your interview, and hopefully you speak reasonable english too.

Don't forget to check out telecom's career site (www.telecom.co.nz/careers) for vacancies in both Telecom as well as Gen-i, they are almost always looking for people.

Questions asked are typically role related. In terms of general/soft skill type questions, just do a quick google search and there are everywhere (usually it will be things like describe your weakness, where do you see yourself in 5 years time, describe how you reacted to a certain scenario, what will you bring to the team, why should they hire you instead of someone else etc etc). In terms of technical question they will usually ask you stuff relevant to the job you are going for.

Do you want me to go through a simulated interview with you for technical questions (i have interviewed more than 100 candidates in my IT career and i quite enjoy grilling people :P)?

you can only ever prepare for those general/softkill type question for interview. For technical questions you either know it or you don't. Since you are highly qualified, people will have higher expectation from you compare to others, which mean it will look really bad if you can't answer some of the real basic technical question covered in one of the exam you already passed.

Just to give you an example, at one point we were looking for a level2 engineer, we interviewed a guy that's CCNP certified, and another guy that's CCNA certified. During interview it was obvious that the CCNP guy was only paper certified and couldn't even answer some basic CCNA level question, so he didn't get further with his application. The guy that was CCNA certified didn't get asked as many tough technical questions, and did answer all teh basic networking question right, and we end up giving him an offer.

Hopefully you did go through your study properly and do know your stuff.

如果你的证书是靠题库考来的，那你最好在面试之前好好复习一下相关的内容，因为面试的人会对你的期望很高，问的问题会相对难点；如果你的证书是靠自学考来的，那你就不愁找不到工作。

不过我还是觉得你的ITIL证书有点水分，因为这个证书对于没有工作经验的人来说会有点空

对真正高薪的产业链上游来说，微软、linux这种烂大街的 post-sale 证书恐怕是完全没有用处的

越往上游走就越能体会到证书的重要性 —— 只要是打工仔，多少会需要点东西来装点门面

我觉得我考的证书里面RHCSA和RHCE最有价值，考试现场搭建服务，搭建对了就通过，参数设错就没分，哪像微软都用选择题敷衍了事，新西兰这边有小红帽认证的应该不多吧？

应该不多

据我所知小红帽在新西兰用的也不多

不过你有小红帽证书搞VMware技术支持应该会更有基础

it's a technical test, as long as you answer them correctly, i don't think they will pay attention how you answer it (i.e. no need to answer them in formal language or anything)

1. 你自己就是高手了。这么多证书考下来，不容易啊。你需要的只是机遇。

2. help desk 不是入门工作。至少我这么认为。做help desk 的至少要有3-5年工作经验，对系统和网络、对本企业/生意所使用的软件，和对职员，都需要有一定的熟悉和了解，才可能提供支持服务。
见过一些毕业生做help desk 的，对基本故障解决不了，不能给出帮助，职员/用户必然激烈投诉。我认为有经验的 IT 经理会安排有经验的技术骨干去做help desk，否则这个经理会面对很多很多投诉.

3. Network engineer, system admin 不会用没经验的，原因很简单，多数企业/公司已经有 network 、server 存在了，没有的也会雇佣有经验的公司去安装，不会让一个新手去安装。要维护的话，就会用有经验的。

4. 如果你不需要考 job offer 办签证，就考虑做做志愿者，不要工资，要求无薪实习，就有机会进入企业和一些技术团队，等有1年以上的经验，再找合适的工作，机会就大得多。

I almost don't agree with all your points at all, do you actually work in IT yourself?

1. Being highly certified doesn't mean the candidate will definitely be good (general comment, not indicating LZ is the case), there are way too many paper certified people out there.

2. Tonnes of helpdesks i dealt with come from none IT background or are fresh graduates. Helpdesk/Tier 1 support is only there to help solve something that's easy and repeatable (e.g. password reset), they are not meant to have the ability to fix every possible faults.

4. All all reasonable size corporate won't go down the path of hiring a none paying volunteer, there are way too many potential issues to deal with (how do u handle conflicts or health and safety issue for someone with no contractual relationship with the company?). Most of the companies i have dealt with would rather just pay someone to do work for them.

People get turned down for many reasons. It could be because you are asians, it could be because they have received 100+ applications, it could be because they are specifically looking for someone with some industrial experience before.

Either way, there's no point speculating why u didn't get shortlisted or have a chance for interview. Be persistent and have confidence in yourself, if you know your stuff, you will get a job eventually, it's just the matter of time. After i graduated from uni years ago, it took me 6-9 months before i got my first step into the door (IT), and i never looked back since. Keep trying and you will get there eventually. Just be aware that majority of us that are working in IT in NZ now had similar experience, i hope you aren't too disappointed about it and will just keep trying.

我了解到有几个比较大的IT外包公司在把一级支持团队从澳大利亚搬到新西兰来。反正也只是接接电话、踢踢皮球，哪里便宜就放哪里。

我之前有个同事前段时间面试某知名IT大公司技术支持。又是考试又是面试搞了好久。后来公司HR打电话给我聊了reference的话题，然后和那个同事说all good，就等他去上班。

结果没有给offer。。。

原因是谁能下个星期去上班就要谁。

我只能感慨某知名IT大公司已经饥不择食到这种程度了。下个星期就上班那只能招待业的了。

看来现在流行能下个星期上班的优先，其他都是浮云。。。
