Is your own house neighbour or your investment property neighbour?

If it's investment, it's fine as you don't live there. But it's your own house, I suggest you be careful to deal with it. As even you win the dispute, you never know he may do sth. bad on you afterwards. Try best to cope with neighbour nicely.

i did feel bad when he used the word "it is not a neighboury way to talk ...

when $$$ is involved it becomes business, and 'neighboury way' doesn't pay the bills.
