I've got two totally different kids. One is very hardworking and always pushes/challenges himself (perfectionist), in this case, I just let him play as much as he can; one is smart but cannot focus on one task, so I need to push him for him.
I believe individuals need different way of parent support with their study. For some kids who really enjoy study, the parents can leave themselves alone with their study and put more effort to guide them in other areas of learning: leadership, interests etc.作者: assel 时间: 2013-2-28 21:34:56
I agree with you on this point.
Decision making is a leadership skill and parents need to give the kids opportunities to learn this skill and be responsible for their decisions from early childhood. Let them try, let them fail, help them rise from where they fall.作者: assel 时间: 2013-3-6 14:13:42

Some people would not follow a normal pathway planned ahead by parents...Who quit Harvard and entered a field where he'd got real passion in? Bill Gates. His parents had a law career in mind for him while he just followed his passion and quit uni study. This kind of man is innovative and revolutional hence changes the world.
Dream your life, and live your dream! That's what I am gonna to tell my kids.作者: ctx2002 时间: 2013-3-6 15:25:39
