There is no way he can get an accurate test when testing a battery when its flat.
Also you can not test battery when car is running.
The battery needed to be fully charged before you can test it and get any idea.
If its sealed its possibly a calcium battery. If its gone very flat you may find that your car won't charge it up you could drive it the length of the north island and it would still be flat. You need to charge calcium batteries on a calcium charger once they get below a certain level. If its only been flat a short time battery should come back up tip top, As stated above once you drain down a lead acid battery it won't ever be quite the same you may have done it damage but only to the point you may have taken a few months off its life span.
The large multimeter is called a digital load tester. They are pretty good but not as good as a carbon pile tester.
If your car starts and runs fine then don't buy a new battery till you feel your car turning over slower than you think it should. This is when you should change batteries not once it doesn't actually start this avoids damage to your starter.
If you find it doesn't really hold a charge over the next few days borrow a calcium charger or take battery to an auto sparkie and ask them to put it on a calcium charger and carbon pile test it after a good charge. Then you will know if you need to buy a new battery or not. They should test for free and maybe a small charge for the battery charge.
