Coffee grounds are excellent for citrus tees and blueberry plants. Sprinkle around the base once a month. You can increase the quantity once the plants are used to it.

Coke bottles make great incubators and holders for any plant, especially herbs like Chives. Cut the bottom and top off the bottle to create a cylinder, then place it in the ground around the plant. Remember to recycle the ends of the bottles.
Always get your husband to do the gardening. That way you can blame him if anything dies.
