South Auckland police are putting the squeeze on street corner car window washers, saying they are intimidating and a traffic hazard.
Counties Manukau police have received more than 50 complaints in the past two months and are now asking motorists to stop paying the squeegee-toting opportunists.
It is a corner office of a different kind for window washers who swarm over one South Auckland intersection.
"This is a way to make quick money," one of the washers told ONE News.
He rattled money in his pocket. It is the sound of just 20 minutes work.
"I make a hundred and eighty dollars for four hours," said another washer.
