"Collective parenting" is a community project that organises parents to help international and new immigrant students to feel empowered while settling in.
The project is for our teenage children (13-17)to stay motivated and held accountable when things seem challenging. Especially when they do not want own parents to be worried or "over-reacting", other parents can be there as their elders to listen to them, in a calm, caring and respectful manner.
For schools, we serve as another contact point, a support from the community.
At the moment I am initiating the project with seven Chinese parents whose children are studying at AGS, AIC, McClean, and ACG. We hope to see more Chinese parents joining the team and we are also happy to diffuse the idea to parents from other countries.
