Following-up Meeting with International Graduates and people looking for jobs, or already employed but have problem of PR application/work visa application.

Date: Sunday, 23 July 2006 (THIS WEEKEND)
Venue: New Lynn Community Centre
         Meeting Room 1
         Level 2, 45 Totara Ave. New Lynn. (one St next to the roundabout besides the New Lynn bus station)
         (Buses: 213, 224,113, 163, 154 from city to New Lynn
transportation centre)
Time: 1:30pm – 4:30pm---------其实我也只是一个找工作的学生, 来新西兰快6年了,毕业以后工作也2年多,但是移民申请就是不能被批准,所以下半年不得不回到大学继续学习......我知道有好多朋友也是有着同样的经历, 有的已经放弃留下来找工作,回到中国,有的发个几十封的工作简历,但因为签证要求不能达到还在和找工作,有的通过中介,朋友找,有的人已经移民但还是由于语言或者工作经验不足还是没有开始工作...以及各种各样衍生出来的等等问题..

一个偶然的机会,我联系到了TANYA,参加了上次的活动, TANYA把我们的问题归类,一起反映给移民官,于是有了这一次邀请到移民官来面对面同我们交换意见,建议的机会.
我再这里是代表TANYA做为下次活动从SKYKIWI上来报名的各位朋友的联系人.  我们现在的会议可能只是一次反映情况,但是谁又能保证说真正好的有用的意见不能作为下一次修改移民政策里的一项呢?

Are you one of these?

I am an international student, I looked for job for months,  but I have difficult to find a position that fill in the requirement of NZIS to let me apply for PR!!! ( or have difficult to find an employer who can provide the job offer)
I am working, but NZIS declined my application as it is not skilled employement...
I went to see agents, but they can't take my cases, becuase I don't have valid open work visa or PR....
I don't know where to go to for helping me solve the problems..
I am about to graduate, but I do worry about find a job...
I have other problems about find a job and/or have valid visa to find job...

If you are one of these, we would like to hear from you! We would like to share your difficult experience and try to work with you together...

抓紧机会把过去,现在, 以后即将面临的各种找工作问题,签证不符合顾主要求(移民,或两年工作开放式签证),或者已经获得工作但是移民申请不能被批准的.......等等

需要和移民局反应的问题利用这次机会阐述一下.

移民局也对我们留学生的问题很关注, 但是由于长久以来很少有人和移民局反映找工作难,而且移民局也认为毕业后半年的工作签证能够给同学和顾主机会进行工作安排(但实际上很多顾主是要求2年以上的签证),所以到现在我们还是处在被动而且很艰难的找工作申请移民的困窘局面.

现在这个机会让我们和移民局面对面的交流, 请大家把握机会,一起反映我们面对的问题,这样办签证,找工作,移民等问题,才会有希望得到重视,甚至更改. 请大家同心协力.

第二次留学生座谈会通知 :25::25::25:

2006年6月11日中国留学生申请移民问题座谈会借New Lynn 社区活动中心场地顺利召开。太平绅士孙丽沙(Tanya)女士，王博耀会长，孙启祥会长，胡崇宝会长，王世清秘书长参加了会议，让留学生们体会到了人在他乡不孤单，华人、华侨像关心爱护自己的孩子一样关心和支持着他们。

座谈会收集了三大项共十三个问题，提出了十七条建议呈给交移民部门。移民局非常重视这部分毕业生所面临的困难与疑惑，（教育行业）公关经理NZIS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER (EDUCATION) 准备在第二次会议上与同学们见面，解答同学问题，澄清不实传言，让同学们清楚地了解新西兰移民政策与操作程序。移民部门已经开始与各个公立大学合作，向在校生介绍有关信息，故第二次会议主要邀请曾参加第一次会议、11日部分因上班而未能到会的学生和近两年高校毕业生参加。因场地有限，请提前报名。

NZIS also investigating our students situation at the moment, However, no one reports to them to declare detailed information. We are organising these to let all students to have opportunity to sit together with NZIS officer to communicate and let them understand our difficulty and conflicts of some policys that limited our chance to find jobs.

Yes, True.

they used to advertise on the local newspaper and Chinese radio, but didn't have enough people turn up, So I suggested to advertise this event on skykiwi to let more students aware they are organising this event at the moment.

no one reply? i saw many complaint from other places. If no one coming to bring our effort together, we will be keeping in trouble of obtain jobs. In the further will be even more harder to invite immigration office to come on board.

NO MATTER, it is open for any students who feel the policy could be a hassle for looking for jobs now or in the further..

students who have had experienced any difficulty will be mostly welcomed, since they could bring in more evidence.

However, the current policy would affect many potential students/graduate, ie, the overseas students is down at the moment, a potential reason is the immigration policy is not competitive compare with Aust and Canada policy. So the potential graudates also welcomed.

I believe all of our voices should be counted. becuase at the end of the day, all of us will be affected by their policy, and currently, there were many graduates already decided to leave the country and potentical students not choosing NZ as their destiny of studying.

please also let students who seldom visit skykiwi aware that we are going to organise this meeting in early July, anyone interested to come please contact Ella to regist.

根據紐西蘭統計局2005年12月份的統計數據，失業率狀況如下：歐裔2.5%，毛利7.6%，太平洋裔6.2%，少數民族失業率為5.8%，而全國平均的失業率大約為3.5%。在2001年的全國人口普查統計，亞裔失業率是13%，全國失業率是7.5%。但在普查后的五年之間，沒有個別亞裔的數據。許多移民來到紐西蘭，最頭疼的問題往往是難找工作，几十封簡歷寄出去，往往如石沉大海，甚至連面試的機會都沒有。語言能力是雇主考慮的一個重要因素，但很多時候，紐西蘭的單語背境，使得大部分人對非紐西蘭口音的英語有抗拒感。但如果雇員有工作能力，良好的工作態度及能与人相處融洽，則有可能抵消語言導致的抗拒感。但除非個人有機會去展示這些優點，不然還是被拒諸工作門之外。

加上，紐西蘭有86%的企業是小型企業，小型企業的定義是雇員不超過五個。所以雇主更加謹慎小心的來雇傭新的雇員。因爲一來沒有太多人力物力去訓練新人，二來員工之間必須能協調，不比大機構，每天都要合作密切。在現行的雇傭法下，雇主的感覺是不管有沒有充分理由，解雇的程序很繁長，很容易引起訴訟，對雇主來說，費時費錢，代價實在太大。所以，紐西蘭的雇主傾向于給那些有工作經驗，他們認爲有共鳴的應聘者機會。這就是爲什麽很多少數民族移民在找工作的過程中，往往連實習、試用的機會都很少，因爲在現行的法律下雇主不願輕易給他們機會。

90天免訴訟法案的定義是在90天内，如果任何一方提出不繼續雇傭關係，不能訴訟於法律去解決。反對的聲音大部分來自工會，工會提出的理由是雇主可以濫用這法案去無故解散新員工，這是脫節的想法，尤其在紐，百分之八十六的雇主根本沒有精力去不斷的用新人，在90天内換另一批人，不管工作如何簡單，讓新人能順利的進入狀態需要時間，任何一個想業務蒸蒸日上的生意人都希望有好的熟手員工。

其實，雇員的工作能力如何，是否適合職務，是否有團隊精神往往只有當雇員真正工作了一段時間，雇主才會有切身的了解。國家黨提議的對雇傭法的修訂，使雇主及雇員，有機會通過90天的免訴訟期來互相考察是否合適。這一修訂目前已通過第一讀，正在國會委員會小組審核，如果最後被通過，紐西蘭的雇主就可以大膽的啓用新人以及移民應聘者。而衆\所周知，新移民往往可能是最珍視工作機會的群體，並且工作勤奮，努力認真。只要雇主給新移民試用的機會，通常雇主們都會非常滿意這些新移民的表現而留下他們。所以，這個法案的修改相當於給了新移民一個找工作的敲門磚，給了新移民更多的機會讓當地雇主了解認識他們的工作能力和態度。這應該會提高移民在本地的就業率。

由于没有找到合适的场地,
我们决定地点在NEW LYNN的COMMUNITY CENTRE,时间是周日的1:30 - 4:30
因为在BUS 总站, 所以能到达的公车TANYA也都LIST上去了.也是为了方便大家都能参加.

最近抱怨的学生还是很多。。。现在连雇主都有反映找人不好找的问题了。。可能也是因为要提供给移民局的文件太多，对于他们来讲也是比较繁琐。。。雇主难找员工，毕业生难找工作，移民局又要达到移民配额。。。真的是个怪圈！

就连我们长期短缺的 fully qualified skilled graduated student 都难找工作。那些毫无专业训练毛都不懂的洋人就一样找的到工作我是学西餐的，顾主利用我们刚毕业要靠工作申请工签和移民的弱点当厨师给的工资还不如打杂的，而且去了税比最低工资还低。那些洋人连最基本的如何控制食品安全都不懂，更没有基本的保证食品安全的技能和概念，是不能进入食品行业工作的是不合法的可是人家就是不要你什么都有的。

我不关心工作问题也不要求PR。
我就是一普通的留学生，安稳读完书，安稳回国打拼。
我关心的是走在街上不被FXXK，放学回家车还完好，家里东西还在，毛利人不打我，洋人小孩不欺负我。我关心的是开车在路上不被人强行刷玻璃，带着女朋友晚上散步不被抢劫，出了事情警察叔叔能稍微快点出来安稳下。学费不要那么高等等

请问你们这个会长，那个议员的出来管不管？所谓的PR们和公民们也同样不在乎吗？

there are many side facts from employment, job searching, PR application, employment relationship between employee and employer among migrants. our purpose of the meeting is bringing up the problems and let's these problems be looked aftered and try to solve them in a later days.

we are in short of people who could present in front of the manageent level of immigration

i hope more people could come and regist..

the immigration manager that we invited this weekend is focusing on the problems between overseas graduate of job searching, and PR application. the things that you mentioned are about social community safety and social relationship... i suppose those problem could be report to MP, eg, Pansy...etc... but probabely someone in the community service.

we would welcome you also for this weekend, we are also planning to host some other meetings for Chinese young migrants (students, work visa, visitor visa holders) about the things to be cared and prepared , even complaints in NZ
you could contact either me or tanya regarding your concern.

things only could be dealt with at the higher level, without the process of bring up the issue, the problem could never have a chance to be dealt with.

All the members organising this event are Chinese volunteers (migrants) from the local community centre, international students, social workers. They put a lot of efforts in contacting the immigration officer and contacting students to find out people who are wanting and wishing to make changes for current policy.

I do appreciate Tanya's work and her contribution in organising and chairing this event, our meeting will be a continuous programme until we achieved our goal, which solved the problems of students job searching, PR application, etc.

we will continue organising more meetinig for students, visitors and people who needs help in NZ.

我其實也聽忙，最近都沒囬來髮帖子。。

我們的第二次會議結束暸。

主要我們在等待移民侷對我們提過得問題給予解答。。

如果大傢有參加上次活動的話，可能已經暸解這邊的移民侷其實對我們這些畱學生畢業以后找工作，移民的製度是很苛刻的，嚮他們說得所有的畢業生（包括各個國傢）在5年的畱學生活裏，隻有25％的人最終能夠獲得移民PR，所以，我也希望大傢能明白這也是為什么我們找工作，辦移民的難處所在。

我希望現在的畱學生，馬上畢業或者已經畢業的，盡量爭取找到和專業有關的工作，（最好在接受工作之前攷慮清楚是否該工作的經驗是被移民侷認可移民的工作），然后再去獲得工作經驗。

現在又很多已經畢業的，開始工作，有WORK VISA的同學，就是因為移民侷不承認工作的技術性而不給于加分，這樣大傢在拿勒WORK VISA以后，就更難找工作（因為簽證和上全職工作的原因）。

這次會上移民侷的經理也囬答勒關于畢業以后取得半年OPEN WORK VISA, 到期之后在讀書畢業以后能不能接着申請6個月的OPEN WORK VISA,答案的不可以。所以想找工作的同學們一定要找到對口的工作。
