At least 5000 Auckland properties being assessed for flood or landslide damage.
Auckland Emergency Management Controller Rachel Kelleher said 72 council inspectors were doing rapid inspections yesterday.

“We’ve had teams starting from 7.30 this morning. There are 130 inspectors” and there are also 15 from outside Auckland. There is support from structural and geotechnical engineers.
They are getting aerial footage to rapidly assess where the priorities are.
More than 5000 properties need some level of assessment.
