Aged Care Assistant (providing competitive compensation including benefits)
Skills & Experience:
• Healthcare Assistant with Level 3 or 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent qualifications;
• 2nd year or 3rd year Nursing student and completed at least two clinical placements;
• Overseas Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience no more than 2 years ago;
• Previous Aged Care experience;
• Be able to work independently and at times, in challenging situations;
• Complete casual agency shifts or on going 'lines of work', depending on your availability
• Have strong organisational and time management skills, able to indepently organise activities for elderly people, to make them entertained;
• Current InterRAI training also desirable;
Other requirements include:
• Legal rights to live and work in New Zealand - we will support work visa applications if you are residing in NZ already, if required;
• Bilingual in Mandarin and English;
• Careerforce Health and Wellbeing certification OR equivalent qualification will be advantageous;
• Previous experience in aged care or working with the elderly is preferred;
• Applicant with religious beliefs is preferred;
• Able to travel between locations if required;
• Passionate, patient and caring, with strong communication skills;
• Empathy and a love of making a difference in elderly people' lives;
• Be resilient and committed to self-care;
• A "can do" attitude and a team focus
• Priority will be given to those with a NZ full driver license for over two years and the ability to drive a 12-seater vehicle.
