Project Manager job description
• Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
• Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
• Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
• Maintain a commitment to zero harm and enforce strict health and safety standards across the group
• Conduct site inspections, contractor KPI and staff KPI measures against H&S performance
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
• Review the work progress on daily basis
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
• Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Project requiements
- The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role for a main contractor in the local market.
- Solid understanding of relevant legislation and industry compliance standards
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies
- Genuine commitment to HSE and ensuring safe work practices
- Excellent communicator with strong leadership and relationship management skills
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail
- A positive and solution focused approach
- A valid NZ Driver's Licence
QS job description
Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements. Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals. Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors. Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents. Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies. Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required. Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
QS requiement - Hold a NZ QS qualification plus have at least 2+ years’ experience working as a QS in residential construction in the NZ contract environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the NZ Building Code and NZ Building Standards
- Demonstrable experience producing accurate pricing, managing procurement and progress claims, and handling variations across residential projects of varying complexity
- A committed team player, a clear communicator and able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Proficient user of MS Office, and confident using pricing software.
- Able to work autonomously, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
