the fine start from $400, depends how seriously of your crime. Yes, it is a CRIME and considered as a crime..
$400 including $200 fines and $200 donation to charities. charge is: reckless/dangerous driving.
If the police consider you is reckless driver, normally, i say normally it is hard to challenge them, only if you have sufficient/strong enough evidence to prove that you are innocent, also, need a hard-ass lawyer/solicitor, at last and very basically, you got enough money to pay ur lawyer. However, it is not guaranteed that you will win. if you failed to challenge the police, the fine will be much higher than pleading guilty instead.
You can apply for police diversion, but you have to plead guilty first, or challenge the police. Police diversion means that you will not be recorded in your crime record.
detailed police diversion policy, you can google it or go to NZ police website. |
