It worths trying to apply. But I dont think you will be their first priority, I mean Engineer. I dont think you can apply med after your first year if you dont get in. You can apply AUS ones after your first year or anytime actually. I need to wait until you complete your degree. I just have two friends got into med this year after their BHSc. If you want to be a doc, I dont think Eng would be your interst at all coz they are basically parallel. You do need high GPA to get into med after your first year, but also depending on your UMAT and interview. UMAT is very important coz it takes 10% of your ranking system. it is even more important if you want to go to AUS (but I think it is a bit late now if you apply AUS ones). If you cannnot do med, why dont you stay in Biomed? At least it is something you might be intersted in. You still can go to clinical area to work as a researcher or something. You still can do something very much associcated with medicine, if medicine is what you love. I love working in the hospital or in any health sector, so I cannot change my mind although I didnt get into med. I am happy about what I am doing now.
Right! You can also try sport science. You will be able to have your own sport science clinic in the future! Or to be a dietatian, social worker, pt, ot, nurse, play specialist, psychologist etc. If you love working and helping people, you have millions of options. |
