Dear student We recognise that the recent industrial action has been very disruptive for some parts of the institute and that this comes after a number of huge challenges this year. We as an institute have done everything we can to minimise disruption to students’ classes and to reach agreement with the Tertiary Education Union (TEU) as quickly as possible. I want to assure you that CPIT is committed to helping students achieve their academic outcomes for 2011. Many programmes have run as normal. Other programmes were disrupted and these programmes may have extra classes running next term or online learning options. Ensuring students can finish their courses is an absolute priority for the institute. Heads of Schools will ensure that information is provided on this as soon as it comes to hand. To ensure that students have not incurred any extra costs as a result of the industrial action, we are committed to reimbursing those additional costs that have been incurred, such as petrol, to attend classes that were cancelled. If this applies to you please collect an APPLICATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF COSTS INCURRED DUE TO INDUSTRIAL ACTION form from your school’s admin desk, list your expenses and submit the form to the Registry Manager, or your Head of School, for action before 31 October 2011. Forms are also available by email – please email[email protected] . If you have any questions or other concerns regarding the recent industrial action please phone Laurie Millar, Registry Manager, on 9408306 or 0800 24 24 96.
