Auckland police made a bizarre discovery after stopping a motorist for texting behind the wheel. The driver was also unknowingly dragging his wheelie bin that had attached to his tow bar.
The officer had originally spotted the man glancing and typing on his phone in slow-moving traffic.

After being pulled over it was soon revealed that the embarrassed driver's concentration was worse than first thought.

Police magazine Ten One reported that the driver had originally only planned to tow the bin to the top of his driveway.

When asked by the officer if he’d noticed other drivers attempting to warn him, the driver simply said "I was probably too busy texting."

The bin was removed on the spot and the driver given a well-warranted ticket.
