Race Relations Day Celebrations :

Saturday 20 March Southeast Asian Night Market 4 - 10pm, Frank Kitts Park promenade, Wellington waterfront
The event is made possible by the Wellington City Council, the Asia New Zealand Foundation and communities from the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) -- Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
Highlights of the Southeast Asian Night market include the visiting Cynthia Alexander Group band from the Philippines, an open-air Indonesian wayang kulit puppet theatre with gamelan orchestra, Wellington’s Singaporean-trained lion and dragon dancers, Thai kick boxing, and Indonesian jazz band Dimas.

Sunday 21 March Race Unity Football Festival
This 5 Aside Football Tournament will be Open to all Ethnic/Culture based teams and will be held in Petone at the Petone Recreation Ground, Udy Street on the 21st March, 2010 as part of the Race Unity Day Celebrations.
The tournament is being co-hosted by the Hutt Ethnic Council and SportZone

Mabuhay (Wellington) Association, Inc.
This is MABUHAY's offering to the diverse ethnic communities in the northern suburbs featuring varied food, craft and white elephant stalls, face painting, henna tatoo, free Tai Chi class, entertainment galore from various ethnic groups, youth band, cultural networking, reflexology and yoga demo, BINGO/Housie games, and many more presentations rarely seen and heard before!!

Sunday 28 March Culture Kicks 2010 at Martin Luckie Park, Berhampore

Five-a-side teams representing countries and cultures from all over the world will battle it out for a chance to take the 2010 trophy to a backdrop of drumming, dance and anthems sung throughout the day. A festival day not to be missed.
