When my older one was 11months I went around and checked out quite a few in the Howick area including ABC and Kiwisupertots.  I preferred Kiwisupertots myself over the other one and my son has been going there full time since, he's 2 and a half now and still enjoys going there.

I just love the teachers they have at the nursery room and I like their facilities.  For older kids though (3 and up) it may be different as the larger centres like AbC probably provides more structure and well-run programmes, not sure.  But with my son turning 3 soon I'm going to check some Kindys out.

Ic!thanks for urs reply!everyone around me said kindercare is good but unfortunely I can't afford it to send him there .  :(
If sending him to ABC ( I m thinking to send him in the morning session therefore the centre doesn't charged but only charged for the $2 each time while kiwisupertots charged $55 for morning session mon to fri. Kiwisupertots has bigger classroom compare to ABC and KS also provides different meats while ABC only provide chicken and mince :P
The other concern is the hygiene problem in KS,quite Dirty.there was a day when I saw a teacher who supposed to changed a kids's nappy at the changing room ( there is a transparent window),and when she heard there was a girl crying outside ,she left the kid at the changing room and ran to e crying gal ....the kid who was in the changing room standing on the changing table ( next to the window )waving  her hand and calling the teacher .OMG!i can't imagine wat will happe if the kid fall frm the changing table ( the changing table is higher than ours waistline .) the teacher ran into the changing room....I was thinking that the KS is good b4 I saw this scene.so feeling ' Mao dun' which day care is good for my kid.

Gosh quite disappointing to hear that about KS, I haven't noticed anything of concern so far but good to know.  Guess it all comes down to the individual teacher I mean all childcare centres have their health and safety policies but whether all teachers strictly adhere to them is another story!  And also how each teacher deals with an unexpected situation... I wonder which teacher would have been so careless!

You're right the meals that KS provides are great, they have a good variety and my son always ask for a second serving! At least I know he's getting fed

I had the chance to check out ABC again today for my son, it was ok just the normal very standard childcare service I would expect.  Guess I'll have to invest more time in this and do another day of kindy visits.  I still haven't been to Penguins and Lilliput Montessori preschool that everyone is talking about, seriously I wonder if it's going to be an eye opener.  Agree, it is hard picking the right one taking cost and travel into consideration, I'll just have to go with my gut feeling.
