CDHB招
Medical Physics Registrars
Trainee Anaesthetic Technicians
Medical Physics Registrars
Full Time, PermanentAre you keen to apply your physics knowledge? Want to be more than just another Sheldon Cooper?
Join this exciting program in January 2012 and train to become a Medical Physicist!
These specialist professionals play a key role in the clinical team using radiation to treat cancer. As a part of this team you’ll be ensuring treatments are safe and effective. We’re confident this niche role is a far cry from The Big Bang Theory physicists!
Six District Health Boards, Auckland, Waikato, Mid Central, Capital & Coast, Canterbury and Southern, are currently offering 5 year post-graduate training positions in conjunction with the University of Canterbury. Once qualified, you’ll be eligible for registration with the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM).
This unique program will see you study in Christchurch for your first year completing the course work element of the MSc followed by on-the-job training at your sponsoring hospital while completing your research thesis. If you are already part way through an MSc or have some background in medical physics then we would still like to hear from you.
Your strong academic skills combined with your enthusiasm and easy communication style will see you thrive in this field, taking physics out of the laboratory.
Applications are being coordinated this year, by Canterbury District Health Board and should be made via the website at www.careers.cdhb.govt.nz . You’ll need to submit your academic transcript as well as a CV and covering letter telling us why Medical Physics is for you! If you have a preference of DHB then you had better tell us that too. You must be a New Zealand citizen or resident to apply.
For more information on the course visit http://www.phys.canterbury.ac.nz/medphys/courses.shtml or to learn more about the job visit http://www.careers.govt.nz/default.aspx?id0=103&id1=J80374 or http://www.acpsem.org.au
