Aggravated Robbery at Massey Campus Albany

North Shore Police are investigating the aggravated robbery of two security officers at Massey Campus in Albany.
Police say that about 8.10am this morning, Thursday 4 May 2006, two security officers were servicing an ATM machine in the vicinity of the Campus Gymnasium.

They were approached by a male offender, who threatened them with a large bladed knife, and robbed them of several cash canisters. The two security officers were threatened, and both pushed to the ground. Both have been left shaken by the experience.

The amount of money taken has not been disclosed. The offender then fled to a nearby vehicle in which a second person was believed to be waiting. Police have described the offender as.

Male - solid build / Possibly Polynesian / Accent is Polynesian / Wearing dark clothing

Black Balaclava used. The vehicle used by the offender was a brown 4 x door saloon, current make and model is unknown.

Officer in Charge of North Shore CIB, Detective Sergeant Kim Libby, says Police have very little information so far on this incident, as there were very few witnesses in the area at the time.

"It was certainly well planned and organised, and it's likely the offender
have cased the campus over a period of recent weeks, as they knew exactly what they were doing. If anyone has seen persons acting suspiciously at a time when security van deliveries are being made on the campus, we would like to hear from them," Mr Libby said.
Police remain at the campus carrying out a scene examination, and a search is underway for the offenders and the vehicle used in the robbery.
