I'm not proud of China, but I'll always know it as my home country, and would never like anyone look down on it, and wish it gets better and better...
But so far... it has too much work to do... corruption, unbelievable domestic social and economical condition, its own people is suffering... no matter how much Chinese people wish to love its own country, but with comparison globally, honestly speaking, it's a nation which doesn't value individual human beings much at all... producing low self esteem, distort human heart, unnecessary hardship for its people due to unfairness and weird and nasty government or to say official's behaviour... coldness and soreness in human heart...
To build motorway, the government never asked it's own people's opinion, instead, just built with high cost, and forcing people to pay every time when using! Even after the debt has been cleared long time ago for building these roads, the payment stations stay there forever! it's bleeding it's own people dry!
A reasonable general flat of 100m2, cost at least 1 million in most of the cities! and it's common! but it's also too common that majority of Chinese only earn 15K to 20K per year!! without eating and drinking, working like robot, a family of two would only be able to afford a house of their own after 25 years! but no eating no spending???? truth is most Chinese won't be able to afford a general house in their whole life time! and not to mention the house doesn't purely belong to them anyway! government has the right to the land and all that, after all people paid 1 million just to have the right to live in the shabby little flat for 75 years! damn what a bloody rip off!
And for such a million dollar flat, you know how much they ask you for residential parking? $600/ month! many people only earn 600/month! and for most, it's half ro third of the monthly wage! yet, you've paid 1 million for the flat already, withou a parking space!!
Saving a grandma on the street, leading to the grandma sue you for money... because she has no one to blame, and wants someone to pay the bill...
Living condition is too hard, and people are just going crazy, you'll never know what kind of darkness you could pull out from human heart when situation is harsh...
And the inflation... it's shocking. can you believe seeing something from China overseas, selling for a cheaper price than in China? how these exports become so affordable overseas? And why the horrible inflation in China? is this another trick of the government or whatever to boost up export for their pocket money or whatever reason?
China, it's a vast land, beautiful and sophisticated, admirable wisdom and long history... so many achievements in art and science... it's my home country, and my family is there, I want to love the country, I want to be proud of it, and I want to say it's a great place to live... but the government and it's social structure now... is really depressing and unreasonable...
It needs change, and it's always changing, no matter good or bad...
I felt ashamed that I don't have the guts to think that I can help chaning and improving my own country's current situation...
But neither do I feel much encouragement from the government... Always feel strangely unsafe, helpless, with no strength, with so little freedom, and so little respect from my own people and the government...
Too depressing there, I love China, and want to love to live there, but instead I chose to stay in NZ, at least for now... I can't lie to myself it's a fair and reasonable place to live... it's lacking of reason and order shocked me every time when I went back for a visit. I just felt so sorry, and couldn't tell anyone... I don't want to be another Chinese who came back from overseas, and criticize so much... but neither do I want to lie... |
