Donations can be made by calling Save the Children New Zealand's donation line: 0800 167 168. You can also send a cheque, made out to Save the Children, to Freepost PO Box 6584, Marion Square, Wellington.  Or for more information visit the website at www.savethechildren.org.nz

ShelterBox New Zealand has also launched an urgent appeal for donations following the dispatch of 1,000 boxes to survivors in Haiti. www.shelterbox.org.nz

Each ShelterBox contains a 10 person tent, blankets, water purification and cooking equipment, basic tools, a stove and other essential equipment.
ShelterBox NZ spokesman Graham Beach says funds are urgently required to replace stock already on its way to Haiti and another 1,000 boxes currently being packed by volunteers at the international charity's UK headquarters.
