It is definitely time to move on if you are satisfied with your current job.
But your move has to aline with your long term goal.2 things are very important ,the industry you choose to work and technology.
If you after a lot of money , then you need to go into a industry that is highly paid , e.g Banking
If you do not want to work for a particular industry , then the technology is crucial. The highly paid TS are Microsoft SharePoint , Microsoft CRM ,BI or Biztalk(if you like to become a solution architect) Not sure about Java and other programming language.
In my opinion , being a generic Dev would be a dead end after several years ,by generic I mean doing those small content-management-like project at least your pay would be capped. So you need to either have specific industry experience or specific technology experience. |
