My experience is, not all lawyers know too much about this stuff, especially the Chinese ones. I dont think there are too many (if there are any) Chinese lawyers practising here in the Property field who are also well trained with and experienced in the New Zealand' Resource Management Law (where the heritage/RMA/town planning matters all come underneath).
Still suggest the best way is go straight to the Auckland Regional Council and talk to a planner there- they know the best (don't forget, this rule was written by them!) and/or they may direct you to their Heritage Officer for further details. After all, they are FREE!!
The lawyer you engaged may simply just go to ask ARC anyway, and you pay him/her fortune for doing so which could be simply done by yourself!
But it appears to me that LZ is not very convinced with my earlier advice either anyway - well, up to her na ~ |
