A New Zealand fashion designer has been thrown into the international spotlight after the Duchess of Cambridge wore one of her outfits at a state lunch for members of royal families at Windsor Castle on Saturday (NZT).
Kate Middleton, who became Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William last year, looked "pretty in pink" in a STG1200 ($NZ2507) dress designed by Emilia Wickstead, the Mirror newspaper reported.
Wickstead was born in New Zealand and moved to Italy in her late teens.
Photos of the immaculate Duchess wearing the rose-coloured knee-length dress at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee luncheon featured on websites such as Vogue Italy, Marie Claire, Grazia, The Telegraph and The Huffington Post.
In March, the Duchess turned heads when she wore a long green coat designed by Wickstead to St Patrick's Day celebrations in Aldershot, southern England. |
